Question 1
I think my boyfriend is addicted to oxycontin, please help!?… Over the last few months people have been continually telling me my boyfriend is abusing oxycontin. At first I didn’t believe it because he denied it and laughed at me like I was silly for asking, but then people kept telling me he was doing it. His brother and cousin have come to me and told me he has a problem so finally I looked through his room and found his foil.. and other stuff that I guess is used for smoking it. I don’t know what to do because I have never dealt with an addict. I don’t know if I should tell his family or what to do. We’ve been together almost 3 years now.. and I’ve confronted him about this 3 times.. the first time he lied, second time he said he has done it a couple times, and this last time he said he hasn’t done it for a while.. so I guess it’s progress that he has admitted to it more… but I don’t know. Any advice anyone has would be helpful.. is oxycontin really that hard to kick? Everyone keeps telling me he is a lost cause but I don’t want to believe that!
Answers
1) an addict is gonna lie to you about it , and it’s severity until they come to terms with it themselves. – Arizona Gamer
2) Seems like ur in denial & believe his lies. You need to get out before you become an addict as well. It will eventually come between you. Its not worth the fight. You can’t change someone that doesn’t want to change. Yes it is a hard addiction to kick. He obviously doesn’t want to change if he is lying to you. – girlygirlgoboom
3) A good buddy of mine just went to rehab for the second time because of this drug. If the foil you found has a discolored line on it, and you find straws around the area he is more then likely smoking it. This just so happens to be the quickest way to get high from the drug, as well as the most addictive way. My Doctor was telling me the other day that using opiates changes your brain structure, pleasure center area, and if this is done over and over the changes are irreversible. I would highly suggest contacting his loved ones to get him into rehab and off the drug. This is not something I would just brush off. Keep in mind that the drug will be telling him what to say when you ask him about it. If you do end up telling his parents ask them to keep your name out of it so it doesnt ruin you guys relationship..best of luck – G willie
4) He’s a BF not your husband. Dump him now before you go any further. Tell him the reasons and let him take it from there. My daughter did this to her husband. She gave him a choice, the drugs or her, he chose the drugs so, she divorced him, he’s with another girl, still into drugs and she’s his sling now.
Get out while the getting good, you owe him nothing if he doesn’t want to help himself. – cowboydoc
5) You don’t want to get involved, let him choose between you & the drug.
I know it’s not easy and you’ve been together for 3 years but he might destroy your life aswell, and get you into it and stuff like that.
good luck – Do not Eat YelloWsnoW
6) Call Dr. Phil. I doubt he’d be a ‘lost cause’ or else there’d be nobody left to work in Hollywood. – Fuller
7) It sounds like he may be addicted. First, He has to be willing and want to accept help or he won’t be successful. It’s also very important for you not to enable him by making excuses, etc. Oxycontin is very hard to quit, but there has been some success with methadone clinics, although they can be expensive and usually not covered by insurance. Good luck! – Kel-Kel

Question 4
Pain in my head…really scared?… Everytime I am about to reach a sexual climax (sorry, awkward, but I don’t know if that has anything to do with it) I get this really odd pain in the top left of my brain.
The pain is localized, but it creeps down into my ear and down my neck. I don’t feel like my head is swollen in the area, but I do feel like it goes up a bit (but I’m thinking that’s just because it’s next to a natural dent in my head, but I’m still really paranoid about it).
I’m thinking about it now, and I feel like it’s in the front of the left side as well, so basically all of my left brain/head hurts.
It’s not like a normal head ache pain, it kind of feels like it’s an "ear ache" feeeling, but all the way through my whole left side.
I don’t have a fever nor do I feel sick. This has happened twice now, once a few days ago and once around 12:30.
The weird thing is, it’s only when I’m about to sexually climax that it starts and it continues the rest of the night until I fall asleep and I wake up with no headache.
Please help me, I’m extremely paranoid.
If I were to have an inner ear infection, wouldn’t I have a fever and what not?
I’d also like to add that my brother said my pupils are the same size, and I can follow his finger with just my eyes when he moves it.
Please give me advice..
