Question 4
Whats wrong with my poop?…  I know this is sick but im a bit worried

in 30 minutes i made 3 trips to the bathroom

1st time my poop was in small chunks like it normally is

2nd It was SO long and it was kinda soft and burned when it came out

3rd I had one half as long same consistency and then a lot of diarrhea

Is this something I should worry about? After the second one my lower belly hurt and I was scared maybe it did something to my intestines or something

Answers
1)   this is the best question I have ever seen.

I have no idea what’s wrong with your poop, but I just laughed my butt off. – Jesus Is Evil

2)   are you a boy or girl?

because if your a girl, then you might be expecting your period. I know this sounds gross but i poop ALOT on my period cuz what happens is, your uterus contracts & makes ur intestines squeeze. therefore poop comes out.

but if ur a boy, then maybe you thought u were done pooping but u really werent. causing u to go back to the bathroom. – PipSqueekRaquel

3)   Probably just something you ate. You have bacteria, protozoans, amoebae, etc. inside your gut. Sometimes, either what you eat has stuff in it that messes with your body or the little microbes you already have in your body OR there is a physical barrier that is removed. SO, maybe you were constipated and then things backed up but then broke free.

I would think one of these two scenarios occurred:

You ate something that irritated your intestinal mucosa (like super spicy peppers, hence the burning (but, the burning might have resulted after wiping from the first time)) or the bacteria in your gut already.

You ate contaminated food. Not all bacteria that you eat that cause "food poisoning" make you super sick. Sometimes, you just get a little diarrhea.

No matter what, I bet that you’re fine tomorrow. You might have one more episode of diarrhea, but you should be fine after that.

DRINK fluids to replace the lost water, though. Diarrhea kills more people each year than you know. – Shane N

5)   A persons pattern and consistency of bowel movements (poop) can vary greatly depending on what you have eaten. This is normal. Additionally, some people have stools like you describe when feeling stressed. There is some possibility that you could have eaten something that was a bit too old so that bacteria was starting to multiply. That would resuIt in diahrea for about 24 hours and probably some vomiting too and in most cases goes away on its own. It could, of course, be a viral infection. None of these should be a major source of concern. Buy some Pepto Bismol and take as directed. If the diarhea does not clear up in 24 to 48 hours after you take the pepto or if you develop bloody stools (not just a few drops because that can just be hemmorhoids and is not serious) you probably should see your doctor. – BlessingsMom

Question 2
I have scoliosis and have to get surgery, HELP!?…  I just went to the doctor this morning and my shoulder blades are messed up which caused scoliosis, and tomorrow i’m going again to get a second opinion. I’m 14 and the doctor said it’s too late for a brace so my options are leave it alone, or get surgery. I heard back surgery is very serious and they could possibly mess up. I’m really scared because I don’t want my back to get messed up and everything. But also the good thing about the surgery is I will be more flexible. But I’m just freaking out, any tips?

BTW It’s at like a 45 degree angle. :l it’s snake like.
I also need help because my mom is about to cry because she thinks it’s her fault because she should have caught it earlier. I feel so bad now.

Answers
1)   With ANY surgery, there are dangers. Even having an ingrown toenail removed COULD lead to an infection and require your whole foot to be amputated.

It COULD —– but it probably won’t.

You case is a little more serious, but your doctor is a practiced physician, and either he will do the surgery, or help a friend of his do it. Either way, BOTH are very trained and very skilled. The chances of something going wrong are not zero, but they are very small — maybe a bit more than having a toenail removed.

However, it is a sure, 100% bet that if you do NOT have the surgery, you WILL suffer more later in life. You disease is painful, but not fatal. If you do NOT have the surgery, you WILL be in pain for the rest of your life. if you DO have the surgery the pain will be lessened.

Have the surgery! – Gary B

2)   The muscles are tight in your back pulling on the spine to pull it out of place. You should release the muscles in your back a few times to get them so they quit pulling and to see if it is soon enough so you won’t need the surgery. Here’s how to release those muscles to get rid of the scoliosis:

Back:

(do from a sitting position)

Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder, fingers over the back and the palm in the front and firmly press on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side.

For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed. – Douglas B

3)   it’s always good to get a second opinion, maybe even a third opinion…you and your family also need to understand the benefits & risks – every surgery has risks involved, regardless of how minor the surgery seems. Ask a lot of questions, do research and talk to your family and your doctor about what’s best for you- may also be helpful if you know anyone who’s gone through this surgery before and can talk to you about their experience. Also, research the credentials and track records of the doctors & specialists you’re speaking to, some are much better than others. In my opinion, surgery should always be a last resort, but you’re the person who needs to make this decision for yourself. Whatever you decide on, hope everything works out for the best. I can understand your mom’s concerned about you, but tell her not to blame herself for this, hindsight is always 20/20 and it’s easy to start feeling sorry for yourself. Be positive and you’ll all get through this together. – Mike

4)   You are by no means stuck with scolisis. You will just have to work hard to correct it. You can leave it alone and you many never have to worry about it again. That is very possible. But if you do Yoga your back will align itself properly, it will reverse the curve and youll see improvements in a matter of months. Ive seen it happen. dont let doctors tell you surgery is an option. Surgery should only be done under life and death circumstances and scolisis can be corrected if you work for it. You are young and the younger you start the better. Tell your mom to go to a Yoga class with you or take you to one. – Sepiatone01

Question 3
what is the different in Hydrocodone ibuprofen 7.5mg/200mg and ibuprofen that you buy in the store.?…  My co-worker is taking Hydrocodone ibuprofen7.5mg/200mg and she ask me what is the different in them. I told her i really don’t know , i think they r all the same. So can someone tell me what is the different in them. And what about ibuprofen 800mg , what the different in that. What is the Hydrocodone.

Mary r.

God bless
So how do the ibuprofen 7.5mg/200mg works. Is the ibuprofen a additive drug.

Answers
1)   Hydrocodone is the generic chemical name for "Vicodin". It’s an opiate pain reliever. It works a ton better than ibuprofen… but it’s also addictive. It’s very very very addictive. Do not take them every day. It’s also illegal to take them unless you have a perscription.

Edit: Ibuprofen 7.5mg/200mg means that there is 7.5 mg of hydrocodone and 200mg of ibuprofen. Ibuprofen is not an addictive drug, but the hydrocodone is very addictive. – orestes_returns

2)   hydrocodone is an opiate based pain killer of the morphine/heroin/opium/poppy plant family. It is a controlled substance, hence the need for a prescription. It can also be addictive. – Michael

3)   Pharmacist here and let me clear this up a bit.

First off Hyrdrocodone is not the chemical name for Vicodin, Lortab, or Norco.

Hydrocodone 7.5/ Ibuprofen 200mg is known as Vicoprofen.

Ibuprofen is a Non-Steroid Anti-Inflammatory Drug (NSAID). This takes down inflammation and works on the site of inflammation which is impeding on the nerves thus causing pain.

Hydrocodone is an Opoid Analgesic which is used to treat the pain by inhibiting the body’s ability to experience pain. There is actually no stopping the pain or making it go away. What you are actually doing is making it difficult for the body to experience or receive the pain. The molecules of the drug interfere with the molecules in your body that are responsible for pain.

So in summation the Ibuprofen treats the cause and the Hydrocodone treats the pain.

Ibuprofen 800 taken 3 times a day is a very powerful anti-inflammatory medication. It works great and I take it anytime that I get injured. But the Ibuprofen will probably not diminish the pain to the point that it is tolerable but if it does then that is great. The Hydrocodone is a fairly strong opiod and will definitely enhance the ability to proceed without or with tolerable pain.

Notes: Ibuprofen is an active ingredient and so is Hydrocodone. Ibuprofen is not addictive and I do not think in my years at a pharmacy I have ever heard of anyone getting addicted to them. And Hydrocodone taken for a short period of time is not considered addictive. You are not going to come out after taking Hydrocodone addicted to Heroin or Opium. In short it is a derivative of Morphine. – Anthony

Was involved in a roll-over accident 8 months ago, ever since I have had back pain but when went to be treated?…  For it I thought it was something else.. What should I do? I was passenger in a vehicle of which rolled MULTIPLE times, I escaped with a slice on my wrist. I ended up having to have surgery 4 months later because there was glass in my wrist, and then I have been going to therapy due to what has been diagnosed as PTSD. But, as for back problems what should I do? Can they even prove it relates to the accident if something is wrong 8 months down the road? Please, help thanks.

2)   If you are looking for compensation for your injuries, you need to get in touch with a Personal Injury Lawyer. Just be sure that you are not blaming everything that goes wrong in your life from that day forward on the auto accident! If the back injury is truly a result of the accident, you should be compensated. I doubt that the insurance companies would entertain your claim without the help of an attorney. Good luck! – Mary C

Can’t sleep? Blame your spindles

Some people seem to be able to sleep through an earthquake while others wake up when someone treads on a squeaky floorboard. Researchers at Massachusetts General Hospital have been looking into this phenomenon and measuring people’s brain waves to see if they hold the clue to it. When we are asleep sensory information passes through a part of the brain called the thalamus before passing on to the cortex which deals with thinking. Previous research has shown that brief rapid pulses of brain waves called spindles keep sensory information from passing through the thalamus and disturbing the cortex. In their study the researchers measured the brain waves of 12 people who spent three nights in the lab. The first night was quiet but on the next two nights the participants were exposed to increasing amounts of noise until their brain waves showed they were awake. The study found that those participants with the highest rates of spindle activity on the quiet night stayed asleep through higher levels of noise than the other participants.

Sleep, brainpower and health

A lack of sleep can seriously affect people’s performance but just one good night’s sleep can more or less restore you to normal. Researchers from the University of Pennsylvania studied 159 healthy adults who had an average age of 30. The participants were divided into groups and were allowed different amounts of sleep. Every two hours, while they were awake, they completed a 30-minute computerized test. Those whose sleep had been restricted were found to have a shorter attention span, be less alert and have slower reactions. However, people’s performance went back to normal after just one full night’s worth of sleep. Another study of more than 30,000 adults in the same journal – Sleep – found that the optimum amount of sleep for good health is seven hours a night. People who had less than five hours a night had double the risk of cardiovascular disease while those getting more than nine hours also had a higher risk.

Question 4
I can’t understand what people say to me?…  Not that i Can’t it just takes me a few seconds. Ive had this all my life, when someone says something to me i answer, but honestly don’t know what they just told me. It takes me a few seconds , or minutes to get it. Here’s one example- I was at work, and i do Housekeeping. This man comes to me and asks me for flashlights. I said sure ill go see if i can find some. He left and i sat there and went through what he told me and realized that he meant trashcan liners. Went back and that’s just what he wanted. This happens a lot. Anyone can come to me say w/e and ill just add lib and pretend that i know what they say( im really good at it now) and ill have to sit there and think for a second what they just said. This causes problems cause sometimes i don’t translate what they said completely and other times the conversation just makes me look retarted.

Example being- Hey i just had a baby! Me- Ok. …. Me- Oh grats!

And to clarify English is my first language.
I guess it could be ADHD. But honestly i dont have any problem with attention to things. I listen to everything that they say to me, but i cant understand it. I dont have problems concentrating on things ( even though im sure adhd can mean more than concentration problems.) Its like .. i hear them, then answer, then think of what i was told. The immediate answer is just what i do to make sure they know that i know what they said. But i have know idea what they said, just takes me some time.Oh and this happens more often when its someone that i do not know.

my chest has been hurting for weeks, whats the matter?…  ok its not a heart attack, im only 17. a couple weeks ago (probably like 5 or 6) my asthma started to come back from years ago. i was coughing all day for about 3 days, and my chest absolutly killed. it hurt so bad that i was out of school for 3 days, i couldnt move without throbbing pain. i went to the doctor and he said that it was most likely a strain, and after xrays he told me to just take it easy. after awhile, the pain subsided and i returned to my regular routine. i discovered that my chest still ocassionally hurts when i do things that involve using my chest muscles, such as throwing a football or lifting weights. i cant even do my normal lifting routine because my chest will kill if i try even a low amount of weight. i dont know what to do, i feel like 7 weeks is enough time for it to heal, and i want to start lifting again. what could be the issue?

Question 2
Why does my back hurt so much?…  Here recently my lower back just right above my butt has been hurting. Like sharp pains when I bend down to pick something up or when I bend the wrong way. And now its starting to move around to the sides of my body and the front. It hurts. The other day when I went to my parents house, mi madre said it might be a kidney infection. What is this pain?

Answers
1)   A kidney infection is very likely but you also have muscles around there that you could have pulled by doing something that would stress your body out. Id say take it easy for a bit and if it still hurts see a doctor. You might also realize its a kidney infection if it hurts to pee lol. Well hope this helped. – TyranitarQueen

Question 4
Question about my neck?…  Yesterday I was studying then suddenly I felt a pain in the left side of my neck(it became stiff). When I went to look at myself in the mirror, my shoulder was slightly higher than the other and my head was slightly tilted to the right.

Today I woke up with much less pain in my neck and when I looked in the mirror my shoulders were looking normal again only my head is still slightly tilted to the right. Does anyone know how long till it recovers?
Douglas B

I’ll try that

If it doesn’t work then I’ll wait for it to recover

If it doesn’t recover I’ll go see a doctor

Thank you.

Answers
1)   It might not by itself. But right now if you do the releasing by yourself. The muscles are tight or are pinched in your neck to cause this to happen. Releasing them is the best way to go for it does a full release on them while if you let mother nature do it they usually only go half way which means it’s possible for more pains more easily. Here is how to release those muscles:

Neck

Put your hands alongside your head so your thumbs are on the front of the muscle under your ear and your fingers are on the back of the muscle behind your head. Squeeze your thumb and fingers together and hold. Relax your body. After 45 seconds, slowly lower your head as far as you can, release the pressure but hold your neck lowered for another 30 seconds.

With your neck in the lowered position, replace your thumbs in under the ears and your fingers behind your head but right next to your skull this time. Press your fingers and thumbs together again and hold. Relax your body while waiting. When the muscles have all released, slowly lift your head until it’s level again, release the pressure but hold your head like that for another 30 seconds.

Before doing this take a deep breath and exhale, then try to keep your body this relaxed for best results. – Douglas B

2)   im not a chiropractor or a doctor but that’s happened to me before i just put up with it for a couple of days and it went away on its own – Juu

3)   You’ll feel better if use fisical tretment, the next way: 3 days cold, put cold gel flr 15 min in the site of pain, 3 times a day, it could be cold water. 3 other days use hot alterning with cold, could be newly gel, 5 minutes each, 3 times of every one, newly 3 times a day. Finally put 3 days hot gel for 15 min, 3 times a day. Otherwise if you wish, you can have an analgesic oral via, such as, Naxen 500 mg 2 times a day or Voltaren 100 mg 2 times a day. Do exercise gently with your neck forward and return to the middle line, right side and return to the middle, left side, rote neck to the right and middle line, then to the left returnig head to the middle lkne again. It’s a muscular contracture. Feel well soon. – Salvador

Answers
1)   Allergies most likely, have been feeling exactly the same way only sneezing, coughing, mucus build up in sinuses also.

If your headaches are caused by sinuses (headaches that feel centered around the side of your scalp) then you just have allergies. – Micheal

2)   It could be any number of things, but some common causes of fatigue are dehydration, and deficiencies in your diet, such as iron and b vitamins.

Make sure you are getting enough water, and eat foods that are high in iron and b vitamins, or take vitamin and mineral supplements to see if you feel better. – Drew

Can someone die their sleep and then wake up again?

Question 1
Can someone die their sleep and then wake up again?…  This may sound stupid but recently I’ve been waking up in the middle of the night gasping for air to breathe and I’m not having any nightmares or something. I’m sorry I really don’t know how to put it in a question but I hope you can understand, can someone actually die in their sleep and then wake up gasping for air and not know they just died and came back from the dead? Does this happen to anyone else? Is it normal?

Answers
1)   It happens. – Allen

2)   yes – Theresa

3)   Yes, you should look up near death experience, it’s religion – Anonymous

4)   You cannot die in your sleep and miraculously live again in the way that you are describing it.

You don’t always remember your dreams. In fact, most of the time you do not remember your dreams. Your mind is constantly working even when you are asleep, so it is possible that you are indeed dreaming and you aren’t aware of it.

Are you stressed? This could also be a factor. You may be sleeping in a different position than normal and this is disrupting your sleep.

The main thing is that if you feel uncomfortable enough, you should see someone for it to be SURE. – Hannah

5)   No, no one can "die" and come back on their own. That would defy being dead..

You could however have a panic attack in your sleep or have sleep apnea or simply wake up frightened from a dream… But not die and come back unassisted, that simply does not and will not happen w/o the assistance of resuscitation. – GI Jane

6)   I’ve noticed my dad do that alot when he sleeps. He always snores and when he sleeps he relaxes so much he cuts off his own air way. Maybe your doing the same in your sleep. – xXDirkDiggIerXx

7)   You don’t die in your sleep. It is not possible.

But what you can have could be veryyy dangerous.

If I was you I would go get it checked immediately.

I have heard of people that have that same problem, and

it had to do with heart, pressure or even the way they slept.

To be sure, get it checked out.

Good luck – Jess

Answers
1)   this shows u r weak inside baby go meditate or go to a good doc – pinky

2)   How much exercise do you get a day? It doesn’t sound like you are getting any for this to be happening to you. You should be running a mile a day or swimming 15 minutes a day for these pains to go away. You should also watch how much sugar you are taking in, like candy, pop, sweets, etc. You should also be drinking lots of water to help flush your system out. It is going to take a week or two for you to really notice the change but it will happen and the movement will help keep your body in good working condition so keep doing it for life. – Douglas B

3)   To be honest, I find that the most simple solutions work best – and if they don’t talk to a doctor.

Exercise and drinking a lot of water really helps. and of course, eating healthy does too. If you are feeling this weak and tired all the time it will probably be hard for you to start exercise, but try starting simply by taking longer walks, or jogs. Dance, do jumping jacks, try to put in exercise into your daily routine, it will help. Sleeping too much often leads to the rest of the day feeling tired, lazy, and weak. You wouldn’t think so, but it really does.

Stretching is also very important to help you loosen up your tight muscles before exercising. Drink lots of water to keep you hydrated, and try not to oversleep! you waste a lot of your day. Trust me, I know exactly how you feel – I’m 21. I’m even about the same height and weight as you. Too bad I can’t take my own advice :|fossilized sap

4)   You may have a thyroid problem. Underactive thyroid can give these symptoms. You need to see a doctor and have a full thyroid screening done (it’s done thru blood tests). If it is found to be underactive then you will take a daily amt. of "synthroid" to replace what your thyroid isn’t making. You will do this probably for the rest of your life. You would also need to have it checked every 6 mos at minimum to make sure levels are ok and if meds need adjustment. – Bunnee

Britain – the land that sleep forgot

Britain’s sleep deprivation crisis is getting worse with serious effects for the economy and the workplace. Researchers surveyed the sleep patterns of 6,000 adults on behalf of the hotel chain Travelodge. They found that 28% of workers said they had taken a day off work following a bad night’s sleep – equivalent to 8 million sick days a year and something estimated to cost employers £1bn. More than half of the sample (56%) said that they had felt like they had a bad hangover when they had not had enough sleep and 45% said it had taken a couple of days to recover. A third said they had found it difficult to concentrate driving to and from work after a bad night’s sleep while 70% admitted that they were a horrible person to work with when they had not had enough sleep. A quarter of adults claimed to take a catnap at work with 16% dozing at their desk and 10% retreating to the toilet for forty winks. The top three causes of sleep deprivation were money worries (38%), work-related stress (25%) and noisy family members or neighbours (23%).
