Question 1
what can i do for my knee?… ok so yesterday i fell and banged my knee pretty badly it got cuts, which have now pretty much healed, but my knee hurts a lot when i bend it and it is really stiff. what can i do to relieve it?
Answers
1) you probably just sprained it. try not to exercise for a couple of days/whatever till it feels better. If it swells up, ice it and get an MRI. You would know if you really hurt it…..you’re fine. – Tj M
2) The pain from falling tightened up the tendon for the muscle for your kneecap pulling the kneecap up on and into the knee which makes it hard and painful to bend and/or straighten the knee. You have to release that tendon to get the kneecap back to tracking where it belongs and here’s how to do that:
Kneecaps:
Do while sitting on a chair with no front cross braces between the legs.
While sitting have your leg resting in a stretched position. Place both your thumbs, side by side, about 2 inches behind the kneecap and press down into your leg hard and then redirect the pressure a little towards the kneecap. After 30 seconds, slowly slide your foot back and under your chair as far as it will go, release the pressure but hold your foot there for another 30 seconds
The important part of this is the pressure on the leg, if there isn’t enough this won’t take. If that happens you should try it once more right away. – Douglas B
3) As much as possible stay off it. You might try the heating pad. It would be prudent for you to ask a doctor what’s going on. there is so only so much we can tell you. A doctor will have a lot more Information to go on. plus he has access to ex rays that can definitively tell if anything is broken.
If it doesn’t heal soon you might want to try to get to one. Pain is natures signal that she is pissed about something. Listen to her warning. – queenjeanarlene

Question 2
Foreign object stuck in ear – Brother needs reassurance?… Basically my 15 year old brother was messing around with his friends and got a small bb pellet that kids use in those fake guns, stuck in his ear (now he has only like half hearing out of that ear)
Admittedly it appears to be in pretty deep and he did leave it a while before telling my parents,
But he’s convinced that the doctors are going to have to preform MAJOR surgery on him and have to slit him down the side of his face "because there’s no way they can get in that deep" he says
So in short i was wondering if anybody can post the correct methods that are usually used and offer a bit of reassurance to him like if you’re a doctor or medical expert or if this has happened to you before – i don’t think any knives or anything are involved but he won’t listen to me or my mum!
Thanks a lot
@Vanessa Z
It’s a plastic one, my mum would never let him have a gun that fires metal projectiles!

1) I’m sure they have special tools to pull it out. I heard of a story where a mini crab thought a man’s ear was a shell or something, so he dug himself into his ear, causing the man A LOT of pain! So bad that the man was rushed to the emergency room, screaming at the doctors to "GET IT OUT! GET IT OUT!"
They did manage to get it out with special tools to go inside the ear and pull the thing out. And, not that this is that important, but the crab actually tried going back into his ear after they grabbed him, but thankfully they prevented this. – Sim girl
2) I once worked at an art camp and a child got a bean caught in his ear. The mom told us that she later got it out by using a heating pad and holding it under his ear. It melted the ear wax, and the bean slid out. I’m sure the bean wasn’t as far into the ear as your brother’s bb pellet, but there’s no way this will be a cause for any kind of surgery. They will either use a tool that goes into your ear and can grab it out. Or they will use a special kinda of solution that will flush the ear and whatever it in it, out. – bookworm21
3) Ear Foreign Body Treatment
Medical Treatment
Treatment will largely depend on the location and object or objects involved. Do not be surprised if your doctor uses his or her own unique technique to remove an object. Years of experience often provide innovative techniques that are safe and effective.
* Commonly used techniques include applying gentle suction to the object, small forceps, or instruments that have a loop or hook at the tip.
* If the object is metallic, a long instrument may be magnetized to assist in gently pulling the object from the ear.
* Another common technique involves irrigating the ear. If the eardrum appears intact, warm water can be gently squirted past the object using a small catheter. The water will turn around at the end of the ear canal and often wash the object out.
I’m betting that the doctor will use the magnetized instrument to get the metallic BB out, – Vanessa Z

3) That sounds like pain you get from excess acid being released into your stomach because it will start burning your stomach lining after a while, very painful. You can have that happen when you have pinched muscles in your back pressing on the nerves to your stomach. Those pinched muscles can press on the nerves where they leave the spine to cause this to happen. Here’s how to release your back muscles to get the pressure off the nerves:
Back:
(do from a sitting position)
Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder and find the muscles next to your spine and firmly press on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed. – Douglas B

Question 4
how do i know if i need knee surgery?… My knees ache all the time. How do i know if i need knee surgery
Answers
1) You go to the doc, tests and examination are done, the doc decides if you would benefit from surgery. – gazeygoo
2) Most knee pain is caused by the muscles for your kneecaps tightening up pulling the kneecap up on and into the knee making it hard and painful to bend and/or straighten the knee. Once you release the muscle for your kneecap the pain will be gone. It is kind of hard to do this by yourself so if you have trouble you might want someone else to help you. Here’s how to release the muscle to your kneecap:
Kneecaps:
Do while sitting on a chair with no front cross braces between the legs.
While sitting have your leg resting in a stretched position. Place both your thumbs, side by side, about 2 inches behind the kneecap and press down into your leg hard and then redirect the pressure a little towards the kneecap. After 30 seconds, slowly slide your foot back and under your chair as far as it will go, release the pressure but hold your foot there for another 30 seconds.
You have to have your thumbs together in the middle and put a lot of pressure on the leg, for if there isn’t enough pressure this won’t take. If that happens try it again right away. – Douglas B
3) your best bet is the doctor, no one but a licensed professional can tell you weather to have surgery or not. I have sever knee pain as well i have gone for Xrays and examinations to only be told they have no idea what is wrong, so for now i wear two cloth knee braces and it helps me so it might help you. – Melissa
